4D Steel Detailing utilize a fully computerised detailing system known as Tekla Structures Steel Detailing (TSSD) formally known XSteel. TSSD is a 3D solid modeling system for detailing structural steelwork.
Using TSSD our detailers create a 3D model of the complete steel structure including all relevant information required for ordering, fabrication and erection.
Shop Drawings
All drawings, material lists and bolt lists are produced automatically from the 3D model together with data for CNC machinery.
Our detailing service includes provision of 3D general arrangements, assembly drawings, advance bill of materials, anchor bolt layouts and details, material order lists, member preparation details, fitting sheets, and CNC related information.
Reporting and Material Lists
A wide variety of lists may be generated from TSSD due to the underlying flexibility of the TSSD database. The content of these lists can be customized to suit individual needs. Typical examples include: drawing lists, assembly lists, parts lists, bolt lists, assembly bolt lists, shipping lists, centre of gravity reports etc.
Links to Analysis/Design Software
Models created within all common 3D Analysis Design packages including CSC Fastsolve, SPACE GASS, STAADIII, GTSTRUDL, MicroStran, Frameworks etc may be transferred automatically into TSSD. This ensures consistency of data throughout the design team whilst saving time.Models can be transferred to and from other 3D modeling systems including Intergraph, Modeldraft / Frameworks Plus, AutoCAD, Microstation etc. This enables the design team to work closely together to eliminate any potential errors and clashes.
Interfaces to Management Information Systems
Information generated by TSSD can be utilized by a wide variety of management information systems including Go Data, Fabr/Trol, Steel 2000 etc.
Links to CNC Machinery
TSSD creates CNC data automatically for all items in the structure with the press of a single key! Xsteel supports a wide range of post processors compatible with most CNC machines including Peddinghaus, Vernet, Ficep, Kaltenbach, ESAB, Mesher Greacham etc. This facility substantially reduces time and improves efficiency throughout the production process.
