The role of Estimator involves using the company methodologies to provide accurate responses to client invitations to bid for steel fabrication work.  The role demands an understanding of the steel fabrication industry, including tonnages, pieces and secondary items.  Relationship management and marketing are also part of the role. The successful candidate will have a proven estimating background in the steel or construction industry. Excellent communication skills, both written and aural, are critical, and marketing or business development skills are also preferable.  Candidates should also be able to plan and organise work effectively to meet deadlines etc, with attention to quality.  The role reports to the Estimating Manager and there is an emphasis on reliability, accuracy and initiative. Requirements

All applicants MUST have a minimum of TWO (2) years experience using XSteel Detailing Software AND a minimum of FIVE (5) years Steel Detailing experience. Preference will be given to XSteel detailers with US AISC Commercial detailing experience and applicants with Engineering and/or Drafting Course Diploma's. Preference will also be given to Detailers with NISD IDC certification.
